Eternal Punishment

Eternal Punishment

A Christ-less Eternity

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE.

The Word of God tells us that “HELL” was the place God had prepared for the Devil and his angels. The word “angel” is used in the Bible to represent the Devil’s wicked messengers. The Bible clearly and emphatically and lovingly tells us that, It is not God’s will that any of His created people should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance. We have already related in our salvation doctrine that “Repentance” must come to all men in this life. It CANNOT come after death, as Catholicism falsely teaches. There will be NO opportunity to escape God’s judgment in an invented place referred to as “purgatory.”

The Word of God is explicit in describing “who” will enter into that Holy Heaven where God dwells. John writes: “And there shall in no wise enter into it (Heaven) anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still. (Rev.21:27 also Rev.22:11a)

In the book of Revelation, John is given this vivid and graphic scene…
“And the beast (representing the kingdom of Catholicism) was taken, and with him the false prophet (representing the kingdom of Protestantism) that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image. (representing those that had become their adherents) These both were cast into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
(Rev. 19:20)

Our Lord Jesus Christ actually spoke more about HELL than He did of Heaven as He walked among men at His first coming. In his gospel, Luke records this profound experience concerning HELL…

“There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in HELL he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son remember that thou in thy life time receivest thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come to this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Mosses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Mosses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”  (Luke 16:10-31)

Hell is described

Our Lord Jesus gave vivid and graphic descriptions of this place He calls “Hell.” He calls it a place where the worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Just listen to His drastic exhortation…
“And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, unto the fire that shall never be quenched: And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life. than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: And if thy eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire, Where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:43-48)
